Everything you need is already within you.

Relaxing ambiance for therapy clients in California

My Approach.

My approach to therapy is strength-based, culturally conscious and trauma-informed while utilizing somatic, mindfulness, movement and insight-oriented interventions. That is, I place an emphasis on developing a genuine connection with my clients in order to help them feel safe, notice what’s happening in their body, how to identify deeply rooted beliefs and how to find joy in play and rest.

You are the expert in your life, and I work with you to figure out where you need support and what works best for you. I believe my clients already have the tools to deal with what they’re going through. I help them assess what has gotten in their way of using those tools and remind them of their power. I recognize that many of my clients’ hardships may have resulted from systemic oppression and other injustices; I serve as a safe space to explore and validate those experiences.

My goal is to help you rediscover who you are, recognize your worth and unearth the power of your voice!

Values & Guiding Principles

  • Racial & Social Justice.

My social work foundation allows me to hold space and compassion for clients who experience social injustices in their everyday lives. Together, we will embrace the strengths and stresses you bring from your specific culture, heritage and spirituality, so that they may be explored and validated in a safe and welcoming space. I may not always understand every experience but I can promise I will always stay curious.

  • Dignity & Worth of the Person.

I believe all humans are worthy of honor, respect, care and kindness. Because of this, I cannot provide directives or tell you what to do. Instead, we will work together to strengthen your self-determination. Meaning, I will guide you to look within and enhance your own capacity to create change for yourself and address your own needs.

  • Authenticity & Human Connection.

Human relationships that are formed through authentic connection and vulnerability can serve as the most important vehicles for change. This is why I strive to create an authentic connection with my clients! This means you get to show up as your true self - no holding back, while I do the same. I believe that my client’s feel the safest to be honest & vulnerable when they see me as a human first, and therapist second. Human connection overflows into other relationships, family, work and communities to create well-being and restoration.

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
